Ona by Staffona

Ona is an AI interview platform operated by Staffona HR Solutions, Alexandria, Egypt. The company you apply to decides why and how your data is used for its hiring (it is the data controller). Staffona runs the platform for that company (as its processor). When Staffona recruits for its own roles or runs a search for a client, Staffona is also a controller.
Details you give when applying: name, email, mobile number, location, LinkedIn, your CV and your answers to the application questions.
The interview itself: your voice is processed live to run the conversation, and a written transcript is saved. The call is recorded (audio, and video when your camera is on or the role requires it) so the hiring team can review it. You give separate consent for processing, recording and camera before joining, and we keep a dated record of that consent.
Results: the AI scorecard, language level estimates, the hiring decision and the reasons recorded by the hiring team.
Integrity signals during the interview, such as leaving the interview tab or full screen, pasting text, or an extra monitor. These are signals, not proof, and a person reviews them.
An AI interviewer asks job-related questions and an AI scorer rates your answers against criteria set by the hiring company, quoting your own words as evidence.
The AI never assesses age, gender, nationality, religion, health, family status or other protected characteristics, and does not analyse emotions or facial expressions.
Hiring teams can review and change every AI recommendation, and many workspaces require a person to confirm any rejection. You can ask for a human review of a decision.
The hiring company's team. Our service providers, only to run the platform: hosting and database (Lovable / Supabase), AI processing (OpenAI and Google), and email delivery (Resend). These providers may process data outside your country under contractual safeguards.
Staffona does not sell your data and does not use your interview to train AI models.
Each hiring company sets how long transcripts and candidate details are kept. When that period ends they are deleted or anonymised automatically. You can ask for earlier deletion at any time.
You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction, deletion, or a human review of a decision, and you can withdraw consent for future processing. Contact the hiring company, or Staffona at info@staffona.com, and we will help them respond.
You can also complain to your data protection authority — in Egypt, the Personal Data Protection Center.
